Israeli airstrikes on Friday “completely destroyed” at least three houses in southern Lebanon, as reported by the mayor of the affected border village and the official news agency NNA.
Israeli strikes on south Lebanon: Since this morning, the Israeli air force reportedly targeted four houses in Kfar Kila, a community close to the Israel-Lebanon border, and “completely destroyed” three of them, according to the NNA.
According to the NNA, artillery fire also hit a fifth residence.
The Israeli army and Hamas ally Hezbollah have been engaged in almost daily gunfire across the border since the latter group’s surprise onslaught on southern Israel on October 7.
According to an AFP count, Israel has bombed border villages on multiple occasions, killing over 195 people in Lebanon—including at least 142 Hezbollah combatants.
According to the Israeli army, 15 individuals have died on the Israeli side, nine of them were soldiers and six civilians.
On Friday, the army declared that it had attacked Hezbollah observation points and terrorist infrastructure in the Kfar Kila sector by “conducting air strikes and carrying out artillery and tank fire.”
Hassan Chite, the village mayor, told AFP that although there are only about 100 people living in Kfar Kila, the demolished homes were unoccupied at the time of the attacks.
Hezbollah declared three operations on Friday afternoon, two of which used Burkan missiles—which have a substantial explosive payload—against “deployments of soldiers of the Israeli enemy” nearby.

On Friday, Mohamed Raad, head of the parliamentary caucus, declared that “the Islamic resistance in Lebanon has something in store for the Israeli enemy, and it is not prepare for a war,” as reported by the NNA.
The likelihood of a confrontation between Israel and Hezbollah “in the coming months is much higher than it was in the past,” according to Israeli army chief of staff Herzi Halevi on Wednesday.
Antonio Guterres, the secretary general of the UN, stated that a “total confrontation” between the two would be a “complete disaster” that same day.
