LAHORE: Tomorrow, November 14, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif travels to Quetta with the intention of forming new partnerships and strengthening his party’s ties to Balochistan.
Nawaz lands in Balochistan tomorrow: During his three-day tour to Balochistan, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif would be accompanied by Maryam Nawaz, the top organiser of the party, with the aim of finalising a seat-adjustment agreement with the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), now headed by Khalid Magsi.
The party from Balochistan had broken away from the PTI-led government coalition, which had made it possible for a no-confidence resolution to be successful and send Shehbaz to the prime minister’s office for a 16-month term.
The PML-N struck a similar arrangement with the MQM-P last week in Sindh, and now talks are underway to expand the electoral cooperation to include other parties like the JUI-F and Pir Pagara’s PML-F. This agreement with the BAP is the next in line.
Anticipating the meeting, Nawaz plans to meet with more than 20 well-known political figures, with some expected to join the PML-N, thereby improving the party’s chances in the general elections scheduled for February 8.
