Sunday saw the arrival of Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, to show support for Kashmiris against India’s decision to conduct the G20 summit in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which is against international law.
Bilawal address AJK Assembly today: PPP AJK chapter President Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, Leader of the Opposition Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar, PPP AJK Secretary General Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, and Assembly Members Mian Abdul Waheed, Syed Bazal Ali Naqvi, and Sardar Javed Ayub welcomed Bilawal, who is also the party’s chairman, at the helipad. Nabila Ayub and Dr. Muhammad Usman, chief secretary of the AJK.
Speaking to the media at the helipad, Bilawal claimed that it is against international law for India to host the G20 tourism meeting in IIOJK.
“India cannot silence Kashmiris’ voices at a meeting. India cannot play a meaningful role in the world if it continues to violate UN resolutions, he said.
The foreign minister stated that he had received a request to address the AJK assembly while India was hosting the G20 summit there.
He added that Pakistan is showing the world the real India and that anyone who believes they can silence the voice of Kashmiris by organising a conference will be proven wrong. I’m here to show my support for my Kashmiri brothers and sisters.
On May 22 (Monday), he announced that they would show support for Kashmiris.
The Himalayan valley will host the G20 tourism summit from May 22 to 24, the first international gathering there since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s right-wing government revoked the semi-autonomous status of the nation’s sole area with a Muslim majority on August 5, 2019.
On a three-day tour, FM Bilawal has arrived in Muzaffarabad.
On Monday, he will give a speech before the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly’s special session and brief the media. Additionally, he will meet with IIOJK refugee refugees and speak at a protest march on Tuesday in Bagh.
