BAGH: Zia Qamar, a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate, won the LA-15 Bagh Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) by-election.
PPP grabs victory in Bagh: The candidate for the PPP received 22,619 votes across 189 voting places, according to the unofficial figures.
Mushtaq Mihas, a candidate for the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), received 17,321 votes and took second place.
Asif Zardari, co-chairman of the PPP, congratulated Zia Qamar for winning the Bagh AJK by-election and thanked the residents of Azad Kashmir for their support of PPP. Now, excellent news will be delivered to PPP employees.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has accused the PPP of cheating in the LA-15 Bagh by-election. Election rigging by the PPP in Kashmir, according to PML-N MPA Hina Pervaiz Butt, is intolerable.
Before the unofficial results, SAPM Ata Tarrar had asserted that the PML-N had a clear majority in the Bagh by-polls, but they have been getting information about election manipulation.
It is important to note that the ex-prime minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas’ disqualification by the AJK High Court in a case involving contempt of court caused the seat to become vacant.
At least 189 polling places existed in the constituency, with 29 having sensitive designations and 20 being highly sensitive.
However, On the day of the by-election, the administration had sent out around 2,578 police officers and 600 Rangers and FC personnel to keep the peace.
