Northeastern Afghanistan’s mountainous region saw a jet crash on Sunday, according to a regional administration official.
Plane crashes in Afghan mountains: The precise location of the aeroplane crash remains unknown, but it occurred in the Badakhshan province, which shares borders with China, Tajikistan, and Pakistan.
“The aircraft has crashed, although it’s unclear where it went down yet. The head of the province information department, Zabihullah Amiri, told AFP, “We have sent teams, but they have not arrived yet.” He did not provide any more information.

The powerful Hindu Kush mountain range, home to Mount Noshaq, Afghanistan’s highest peak at 7,492 meters (24,580 feet) in elevation, traverses the province.
