Summary of Imran Khan’s Recorded Video Statement
“My fellow Pakistanis, I shall already be locked up inside in criminal case when these words of mine reach you. You should all realise at this point that democracy, the rule of law, and basic rights have all been destroyed.
“Perhaps I won’t have the opportunity to speak with you again. I want to talk about two or three things because of this.
“I’ve been in the public’s sights for 50 years in Pakistan; during that time, I have never violated the Constitution of Pakistan or breached the law. Since I entered politics, I have always made an effort to keep all of my conflicts civil and within the bounds of the Constitution.
“I did not commit any laws. What is happening today is being done to force me to leave the Haqeeqi Azaadi Tehreek.”
“It’s being done to get me to agree to this crooked group of thieves that has been forced upon us. They desire my acceptance of them.
“Today, I’m pleading with everyone to come out. Freedom is not handed to you on a silver platter; you must work hard and fight for it.
