WASHINGTON: According to State Department spokesperson Ned Price on Friday, the US supports the democratic, constitutional, and legal norms of Pakistan.
At a news conference in Washington, he made this comment in response to a question about the arrest warrant issued against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former prime minister Imran Khan.
“These are Pakistani people’s questions, not American questions,”
Ned Price, a spokesperson for the US State Department, responded to a query about Afghan refugees by saying that we are talking to our Pakistani counterparts about it. “We” urge all governments to honor their commitments regarding Afghan refugees or asylum seekers and to refrain from sending them back to any place where they could be subject to torture or other forms of retaliation.
Moreover He noted that the US talks about freedom of expression and the freedom of people throughout the world to access information. He was responding to the problem of internet shutdowns in India, notably in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
