The New Zealand team arrived in Pakistan on Thursday to begin a historic Test series that will begin on December 26 at the National Bank Cricket Arena in this city.
A strong Blackcaps team that had left Auckland last night arrived in the nation early on Thursday from Dubai.
Tim Southee, who was recently named captain after Kane Williamson resigned earlier this month, will lead New Zealand in two Test matches against the hosts Pakistan in Karachi and Multan, respectively.
The Test in Karachi, which will start on December 26, will be the first between Pakistan and New Zealand on the former nation’s soil in 20 years.
It is important to note that England last travelled to Pakistan for a formal tour in 2002, when they competed in two Test matches and three One-Day Internationals.

In preparation for the historic New Zealand Test series, which will begin on December 26 at Karachi’s National Bank Cricket Arena, Pakistan has named its 16-player Test team (Monday).
Before the Black Caps’ first scheduled game in Pakistan in 18 years, New Zealand cancelled its trip to the country in September 2021 due to security fears that baffled the country’s citizens.

The Green Shirts have selected a 16-person squad for the two-Test series against New Zealand, including fast bowler Hasan Ali and middle-order batsman Kamran Ghulam, who has no previous experience.
Kamran has replaced Azhar Ali, who announced his retirement last week, , while Hasan has replaced Mohammad Ali, who, like Faheem Ashraf, encouraged to compete in the Pakistan Cup currently taking place in Karachi.
