2023 PSL Draft
Around 1,000 local and foreign players were available for selection by six franchises in Karachi’s PSL 2023 player draught, which took place in December of last year. There were 61 places available.
When the retention and transfer windows closed last month, Peshawar Zalmi had decided to maintain seven players. On the other hand, five out of the six PSL teams had decided to keep eight players. The retention and transfer windows are closed and teams are now ready to move forward with the new season.
These teams made up a squad of 18 players, with three members in each of the gold, platinum, and diamond categories, five members in the silver category, two members in the emerging category, and up to two members in the supplementary category.
In the first three categories, platinum, diamond and gold, teams are allowed to have up to three international players. However, in the platinum and diamond categories, teams are required to have at least one foreign player. The rule applies to all teams within these categories.
Teams choose five international players for a roster of 16, and six for a squad of 18.
There were 491 Pakistani players and 517 foreign players available for selection.
