The claim that Pakistan “pursues or receives” inexpensive energy and oil from Russia was denied by foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
According to Bilawal, the government is looking into various ways to improve energy sources since it is concerned about its energy security.
The foreign minister stated that Pakistan is not looking for cheap oil from the energy-rich nation, in contrary to his cabinet colleague.
We are dealing with inflation and rising gas prices, Bilawal said to PBS NewsHour. We are searching for new sources of energy due to our energy vulnerability. It will take a while for us to develop Russian energy.
The foreign minister responded that Pakistan has a long history with China when asked if Pakistan can connect with the United States, deepen relations with China, and conduct business with Russia.
On December 5, Pakistan’s state petroleum minister, Musadik Malik, asserted that Russia had consented to a discount on crude oil, gasoline, and diesel.
According to Musadik Malik, the government is thinking about buying gas and oil from Russia and intends to reveal further information by January 20.
The minister reported that they also discussed LNG exports with Moscow gas companies.
The foreign minister stated, “I don’t think it’s a justifiable justification for Pakistan to violate that pattern merely because Mr. Khan hasn’t been prime minister for the last six months.
