Malala Yousafzai, a Nobel laureate from Pakistan, criticised the Afghan Taliban government’s decision to bar female students from university education on Wednesday.
Armed guards prevented hundreds of young women from visiting Afghan university campuses Thursday, a day after the country’s Taliban rulers forbade females from attending college in another violation of their human rights.
Those that denounced the action included the United States, the United Kingdom, Qatar, Pakistan, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
“The Taliban may lock up all the classrooms and university gates in the country — but they can never lock up women’s minds,” Malala wrote in a tweet.
“They cannot thwart girls’ quests for knowledge. They are unable to stop the need to learn, “Young activist for education added.
The Taliban may lock all the classrooms and university gates in the country — but they can never lock up women's minds. They cannot stop girls from seeking knowledge. They cannot kill the quest to learn. https://t.co/N6qR0yzMgO

Women Education
The gang increased restrictions on all aspects of women’s lives despite promising a softer rule when they won control last year and disregarded international protests.
Neda Mohammad Nadeem, the minister of higher education, made a curt announcement late on Tuesday about her intention to ban women from attending institutions.
You are all instructed to immediately put into effect the aforementioned directive to stop female students from attending school till further notice, he stated.
Women were forbidden from visiting parks, festivals, gyms, and public bathhouses in November.
The right to education for all women has become a contentious issue in discussions regarding assistance and legitimacy for the Taliban government thanks to the international community.
