In a nail-biting conclusion, Quetta Gladiators defeat Peshawar Zalmi on Sunday in an exhibition game by a margin of three runs.
By hitting Naseem Shah for multiple boundaries in the opening over while chasing a total of 185, Mohammad Haris quieted the Quetta crowd.
In the second over of the innings, Babar Azam also made his debut by hitting back-to-back boundaries off Mohammad Hasnain.
Haris smashed Mohammad Nawaz for a six over long off as he maintained his aggressive approach.
Mohammad Haris welcomed Naseem back with a hat-trick of goals, and there was no stopping him. Zalmi reached 60 in 5 overs as Babar hit Naseem over third base for a six.
In the final over of the powerplay, Babar was caught behind for 23 runs off the bowling of Hasnain. The following player, Shahid Afridi, launched a boundary on his first pitch.
Haris kept picking up speed as he made use of Aimal Khan’s inexperience to score 20 runs off of his maiden over. Haris and Afridi’s quick partnership allowed Zalmi to reach 109/1 in just 10 overs.
In the assault, Nawaz returned to take out Afridi, who was unsuccessfully attempting to knock the left-arm spinner over his head.
In order to keep Zalmi’s chase on track, Haris reached his fifty in just 29 balls. Saim Ayub, who scored a massive six against Nawaz over fine leg, provided him with strong assistance.
Quetta looked to Iftikhar as he continued to reject Haris for 53 by using his spells.
