KARACHI: On Sunday, leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) will meet with a team from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Karachi.
PML-N delegation meet MQM-P leadership: The meeting, according to sources, would cover the topic of the two parties forming an electoral alliance in Sindh.
This Saturday, a group of Punjabi PMLN leaders plans to visit Karachi, and on Sunday, they anticipate visiting MQM-P’s headquarters in Bahadurabad.
According to insiders, the conference will cover future actions, seat adjustments, and electoral cooperation between the two parties.
According to the MQM-P spokeswoman, both parties have agreed upon a close working relationship.
The PML-N and MQM-Pakistan declared on Tuesday that they would run together in the general elections of 2024.
Leaders of the MQM-P and PML-N made the statement at a joint news conference after meeting with former premiers Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore at the delegation level.
Further, At the PML-N Central Secretariat in Lahore, MQM delegation members Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Farooq Sattar, and Mustafa Kamal met with PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shehbaz.
The parties stated they had decided to implement a cooperative plan to end the public’s suffering in a joint statement released following the meeting.
However, “The parties reached a consensus to implement a cooperative plan aimed at rescuing the Pakistani people from their current predicament and returning their country to growth.” The two parties also agreed to form a six-person committee to design a comprehensive charter aimed at resolving Sindh province’s issues, particularly those related to its cities. A PML-N statement following the meeting said, “The committee will present the final proposals for cooperation between the two parties to the leadership within 10 days.”
