Security forces successfully foiled a deadly attack on the Frontier Corps Headquarters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mohmand district, neutralizing four suicide bombers, the military’s media wing reported on Saturday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the militants were eliminated early Friday morning as they attempted to storm the FC HQ. The security personnel effectively repelled the assault, preventing the attackers from causing any harm. The ISPR stated that all four bombers were neutralized before they could inflict damage.
A sanitization operation is underway to ensure the area is cleared of any remaining threats. The military reiterated its commitment to eradicating terrorism, stating, “Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute and determined to eliminate the scourge of terrorism from the country.”
In a separate incident, five terrorists were killed in a gunfight with security forces at the Surkhab refugee camp in Pishin district. A significant cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the terrorists’ hideout, according to a Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) spokesperson.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, speaking at a Defence Day event at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, reaffirmed the government’s firm commitment to fighting terrorism. He vowed to continue the operation against Fitna-al-Khwarij until it is fully eradicated, emphasizing the national consensus behind the efforts of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies.
