According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan is commemorating Operation Swift Retort, also known as Surprise Day, which took place four years ago and saw the country’s armed forces respond appropriately to Indian mishaps.
The Director-General of ISPR Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said in a statement on the fourth anniversary of Operation Swift Retort that Pakistan’s brave, determined, and temperate response on February 27, 2019, foiled India’s nefarious plans. This day should serve as a reminder that, while being a country that values peace, Pakistan’s armed forces are always prepared to defend the entire country.
“CJCSC, Services Chiefs, and Pakistani Armed Forces pay gratitude to the nation’s fortitude and the AFs’ tenacity shown during Operation Swift Retort. India stage-managed a cowardly attack on a bogus target under the guise of the false flag Pulwama attack, according to Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry.
The Swift Retort operation
Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shot down two Indian aircraft on February 27. Moreover, they captured an IAF pilot, shattering India’s military supremacy and invincibility dreams.
In the final week of February, Indian fighter jets crossed the Line of Control, and the nation’s military asserted that it had carried out a “surgical strike” in the Pakistani Balakot region.
Moreover, New Delhi asserted that the operation, which lost 300–350 lives, destroyed a terrorist camp. Pakistan refuted the assertion, claiming that neither a camp nor any casualties existed.
Independent reports, including high-resolution satellite pictures examined by Reuters, refuted the Indian assertions.
The Pakistani Air Force (PAF) fighters shot down an Indian MiG-21 in a dogfight on their side of the border the other day, after crossing the Line of Control (LoC) into Indian territory in a tit-for-tat maneuver.
However, After shooting down the Indian fighter jet, Pakistan detained the pilot, who had ejected after being hit in Pakistani airspace in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. This unexpected failure exposed India’s claims of invincibility and military superiority.
