Tres Cantos, Spain: Online video streaming juggernaut Netflix launched new film studios on Tuesday, tripling its production capacity in the nation that has emerged as a centre of European audiovisual production.
Five film sets and some 30 editing suites are among the additional amenities at La Ciudad de la Tele, a sizable production complex in Tres Cantos, north of Madrid.
With 10 sets altogether, encompassing production, make-up, hairstyling, and changing rooms, Netflix has now doubled its production capacity in Spain, the US firm announced in a statement.
On the same location, the entertainment platform opened its first studios outside of the US in 2019, not long after the Spanish series “La Casa de Papel” became its first international smash.
