On 6th December, a US judge dismissed a lawsuit against Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman. For his alleged role in the 2018 murder of dissident journalists Jamal Khashogy and violating Human Rights. The judgment came upon the US government official stance, that was submitted to the court on Nov 17. Stating that Prince Muhammad, who was designated PM of Saudi Arabia enjoys immunity in US courts as a foreign head of state. It will be uncanny to say that it is just merely a coincidence that US dismissed the high profile lawsuit. A day before China’s President Xi was going to visit Saudi Arabia.
It is also interesting to note that Joe Biden in his election campaign railed this case. Yet his administration dismissed the case. Particularly, The matter of the fact is that Mr, Biden is trying to first, counter the increasing influence of China in Middle East. Second, upon the energy crisis ,due the Russian invasion of Ukraine, inflation is skyrocketing at home. Which made him please the Saudi de facto Mohammad bin Salman on the death of Jamal khashoggi.
Consequently, Mr Biden has proved the stance that human rights could be undermined for interest.
