Instagram ending live shopping: By March of this year, Instagram aims to discontinue its live-stream shopping operation and shift its revenue focus to advertisements.
Users of the social networking site won’t be allowed to tag things while live broadcasting any longer.
When the function was introduced in 2020, it quickly gained a lot of popularity in the US. Other applications with enormous success in the Asian market also offer similar purchasing opportunities.
Instagram will now promote Shop advertisements to assist users in finding new companies and increase sales. Tech Crunch reported that the network will make further investments in its checkout feature. This allows customers to purchase products easily through Instagram and Facebook’s various sections. The process only requires a few taps to complete.
Facebook previously chose to shut down a function of a similar nature.
