Daniels hush-money case: Actress Stormy Daniels, who plays Stormy in adult films, claims she does not believe that former President Donald Trump should be detained on hush money-related charges in New York.
“I don’t believe that his offences against me merit prison time. Daniels said to talk show presenter Piers Morgan, “I feel that the other things that he has done, if he is found guilty, certainly.
Morgan and Daniels were the subjects of a one and a half-hour interview that was shown on Fox Nation on Thursday. After Trump’s detention and arraignment hearing in New York on Tuesday, the interview was shot.
The accusations against Trump, according to Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, indicate that he has been “dethroned” and is “no longer untouchable.”
No matter your position, Daniels remarked, “you should be held responsible for your deeds.”
She said that if called to the stand, she would be prepared to give a testimony in court.
“I believe that having them bring me in and have me testify validates my story and who I am. Daniels remarked, “And if they don’t, it almost feels like they’re hiding me.
On Tuesday, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg filed 34 criminal counts against Trump for fabricating company records. Trump entered a not guilty plea to all of them. The offences for which Trump was indicted are related to a $130,000 hush money payment made to Daniels on election night in 2016 by Michael Cohen, Trump’s former fixer and personal attorney.
Trump Faces Multiple Legal Battles and Investigations after being Charged with Felony
After his arrest and arraignment, Trump became the first former president to be charged with a felony. However, it is unlikely that he would go to jail in New York for the allegations.
But Trump is currently the target of a wide range of legal proceedings and criminal inquiries. This includes a probe by Georgia prosecutor Fani Willis into whether he tried to rig the state’s 2020 election.
The Department of Justice is also looking into possible evidence that Trump handled top-secret papers improperly and carried them to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
Daniels, who claims to have had an affair with Trump in 2006, has been outspoken about her dislike of him.
After Stormy’s indictment, orders for Daniels’ #teamstormy goods flooded in, she tweeted last month to rejoice.
Along with making fun of Trump’s arrest, she also claimed that he was fixated on her.
Trump has refuted the relationship.
However, The 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of Trump on Tuesday. The court ordered Daniels to pay more than $120,000 in legal expenses to Trump. Additionally, Daniels has already been forced to pay more than $500,000 in court-ordered payments to Trump’s attorneys.
Daniels has already lost a slander claim in 2018.
The charges levied by the Manhattan district attorney last week have no legal bearing on the appeals court decision.
