General (ret.) Pervez Musharraf, a former president and commander-in-chief of the Pakistani army, passed away on Sunday after a protracted illness. Musharraf body remains will be returned to Pakistan from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today (Monday).
At 11:30 a.m. Pakistan time, a special jet will fly Musharraf’s body to Pakistan from the mortuary of a hospital in Dubai.
Additionally, at the request of Musharraf’s family, the Pakistani embassy in the UAE issued a no-objection certificate (NOC), allowing the return of his mortal remains to Pakistan.
The deceased’s body will be transported to Pakistan by the former military leader’s wife Sehba Musharraf, son Bilal Musharraf, and daughter Ayla Musharraf.

The former president passed away at age of 79 while receiving treatment for his protracted illness at American Hospital Dubai. He was receiving amyloidosis treatment.
Furthermore, the term “amyloidosis” refers to a group of uncommon, severe illnesses. The accumulation of an aberrant protein called amyloid in various body organs and tissues cause these illnesses.
To have Musharraf’s body returned to Pakistan, his family applied at the Pakistani consulate in Dubai.
“Musharraf will be buried in Karachi”
According to family sources, Musharraf will be laid to rest in a cemetery in Karachi.
While his father was buried in Karachi, the former president’s mother was interred in Dubai.
Moreover, diplomatic representatives stated that Musharraf’s passport had been revoked, and the special plane carrying the former army chief’s remains would land in Rawalpindi.
Additionally, Foreign Office spokeswoman Mumtaz Zahra Baloch stated that the transit of the ex-army chief’s lifeless remains was being facilitated.
The shipment of the deceased person’s remains is being facilitated by our missions in the UAE, she noted.
Numerous condolences have been expressed.
President Arif Alvi prayed for the dead general’s forgiveness and the grieving family’s patience in response to the news.
As well as pleading for Musharraf’s pardon, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif sent condolences to the victim’s family.
Furthermore, the Chairman Joint Leaders of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad, and the tri-services chiefs, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), extended their sincere condolences on the passing of the former army chief.
