Balochistan Minister Granted Bail in Triple Murder Case
Balochistan minister grants bail: On Friday, a local court in the Balochistan province’s Barkhan district granted bail in the triple murder case to Minister for Communication and Works (C&W) Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran.
Session Judge Barkhan Malik Sajauddin granted bail to the minister in a case involving triple homicides that received extensive media coverage last month.
After receiving the bail order, Khetran’s attorney, Manzoor Rehman, informed reporters that there was “no proof” linking the minister to the triple murder case in Barkhan.
After the discovery of three young people’s bodies – two men and a woman – in a well in the Haji Kot neighborhood of Barkhan, the police detained the Balochistan minister in February.
The dead belonged to the tribe of Khan Muhammad Marri, a local tribesman who had accused Khetran of the killings.
Following the retrieval of the bodies, the Marri Ittehad protested for three days in the provincial capital’s red zone against the recovery of the bodies and claimed the minister was responsible for the victims’ deaths.
The minister fiercely refuted the allegation, however, and accused his son Sardarzada Inam Khetran of plotting to succeed him as the Khetran tribe’s next head.
A Quetta-based court placed Khetran under judicial remand on March 2.
Additionally, The authorities established a joint investigative team (JIT) to investigate the violent killing of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo.
However, The JIT investigating the murders and the act of holding Marri’s family captive includes senior police personnel.
