Babar Azam of Peshawar Zalmi, who was leading his team against Quetta Gladiators at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, reached several milestones after scoring his first century in the Pakistan Super League.
With 115 of his 65 total points, Babar helped the team set a lofty goal of 241 runs for Zalmi. His overall number of hundreds in the T20 format increased to eight with this strong knock. He is now the second-leading century-maker in the world and the only player from Pakistan or Asia to reach the milestone.
Babar previously scored two hundreds for Pakistan in T20 International matches, two while representing Somerset in the T20 Blast in England, two for Central Punjab in National T20, and a third for Pakistan in a T20 match against Leicestershire in 2019.
Babar now shares second place on the list of players with the most T20 centuries with David Waner, Aaron Finch, and Michael Klinger. With 22 hundreds in cricket’s shortest format, Chris Gayle sits at the top of the list.
