Arresting Imran deepen crisis Pakistan: Zalmay Khalilzad, a former US Special Envoy for the reconciliation of Afghanistan, forewarned on Tuesday that the detention of Imran Khan would exacerbate Pakistan’s current predicament.
Zalmay Khalilzad noted on Twitter that Pakistan was experiencing a political, economic, and security crisis. The former American representative to Afghanistan and Pakistan gave Islamabad suggestions on how to handle the political, economic, and security difficulties the nation is currently experiencing.
Khalilzad stated on Twitter on Tuesday that the “wrong route” was to sequentially cannibalise the leaders of the country by imprisoning, killing, or otherwise disposing of them.
Zalmay Khalilzad stated, “Despite having immense potential, it is underperforming and lagging behind its archrival, India, by a wide margin. Additionally, It is time for serious’soul-searching, bold thinking, and strategizing.
Furthermore, Imran Khan’s arrest, he claimed, will only make the situation worse. I propose two steps:
- To prevent a financial collapse, schedule national elections by early June.
- Take use of this opportunity for the major political parties to discuss what went wrong and put up a detailed strategy to save and restore the nation to a state of stability, security, and prosperity. Moreover, Any party that wins the election will have the people’s approval to carry out their platform.
