Arjun Rampal, Divya Dutta, and Sharib Hashmi were also present in the movie. Despite having a large budget, the movie didn’t perform exceptionally well at the box office. On May 20 of last year, Dhaakad and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 had a fight at the BO.
Arjun Rampal finally spoke up about the critical and commercial failure of his film Dhaakad almost a year after its release. The actor acknowledged that the failure of the movie did bother him.

Arjun Rampal stated in an interview with Hindustan Times, “Yes, it hurts when a movie doesn’t do well because it was an expensive production. It didn’t deserve to achieve the kind of results it achieved, in my opinion. People were sceptical at that point in time. One of the first few movies to be released following the outbreak was Dhaakad. People were maybe scared of going to the theatres.”
The actor also stated, “We’re not even allowed to mention how good Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 performed. Perhaps the film we released was the wrong one. Every movie has a purpose, you simply have to accept it and keep going. The truth is the truth. But the movie is there, I’m proud of it, and I’ll always be proud of it. You are in good shape if you get that much value out of a movie.”
