Imran Interim Bail In Terrorism Cases: Following last week’s skirmishes between Police and PTI members outside Zaman Park, three terrorism complaints were filed against PTI Chairman Imran Khan in Lahore. On Saturday, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore granted him protective bail in all three of these cases.
Imran was given provisional bail in the terrorism cases by ATC Judge Aijaz Ahmed Butter till April 4. The PTI leader was also ordered by the court to provide surety bonds of Rs. 100,000 apiece.
The PTI leader arrived in front of ATC under heavy security.
Imran Khan requested interim release in three terrorism offences filed with Race Course Police Station by contacting ATC through his attorney, Lawyer Salman Safdar.
The former prime minister pleaded with the ATC to grant him precautionary bail since he fears being arrested and wants to appear before the investigative team in the FIRs filed against him.
The PTI leader has been charged with several offences under various statutes, including assaulting police in Zaman Park.
A FIR
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman was detained by Lahore police in one of these cases, which was filed on March 26. The case involved violence in Zaman Park.
A case was opened against the PTI chairman and other party officials at the Race Course police station. This action was taken based on the SHO’s report. Furthermore, Twenty sections, including Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, are included in the FIR.
The other section covered illegal gathering, interfering with state affairs, and refusing to appear in court. These accusations were based on SHO Rehan Anwar’s statement.
According to the FIR, hundreds of party followers and party members committed severe crimes under the former prime minister’s orders. It also stated that PTI employees used petrol bombs and caused damage to state-owned property.
63 police officers, including the DIG operations of the Islamabad police, were hurt during the bloody skirmishes, it was claimed.
It is important to note that Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, was the target of an operation launched by Islamabad police, Punjab police, and Rangers to arrest him after a district and sessions court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for him for missing the Toshakhana reference hearing.
